About
Senior engineer who finishes what he starts.
I am Stratis Dermanoutsos — based in Athens, Greece. I have been building software professionally for the better part of a decade, mostly across the .NET and modern web stacks, with the last few years deep inside Azure.
I work best as the senior engineer or architect on a small, focused team — either embedded for a stretch or owning a discrete piece of work end to end. I write the code, design the system around it, set up the pipelines and the cloud, and stay around long enough to make sure it actually runs.
Outside of client work I maintain a handful of open-source libraries on NuGet and npm, write the occasional article, and keep a small but opinionated blog.
How I work
Principles
- Plain English over jargon. If I cannot explain it, I do not understand it yet.
- Boring tech wins. Choose the proven option unless there is a real reason not to.
- Optimise for the team that will inherit the code, not the one writing it.
- Document the why. The what is in the diff.
